Experience
Carmody MacDonald, P.C. – Intern Summers 2011 & 2012
· Collaborated with both the marketing team and several other partners to generate promotional products, which required me to find a compromise amongst a myriad of demands ranging from the senior partners’ desire for the highest quality products to designing a logo that would represent the firm well.
· Researched the social marketing techniques which would best represent the company’s mission, values, and ethics based on personally conducted research and the market strategy the firm was using at the time.
· Assisted the paralegals in the creation of titles, wills, and any other documents needing attention by using my advanced knowledge of legal operating systems such as ProLaw.
Tarpuy Sonqo – Lima, Peru – ESL Teacher and Orphanage Work September 2011 – December 2011
· Facilitated classroom discussions in which the students were respectful to both each other and myself by creating a stable, consistent environment with high expectation levels and a calm, positive attitude.
· Constructed documents, worksheets, and exams by using my knowledge of the Spanish language and by using a combination of my resources.
· Created and implemented a Tarpuy Sonqo’s first ever custom curriculum for grades 3-6, which is now used as the guideline for future teachers/volunteers.
· Matured exceptionally in many areas, but most notability in my ability to now accept and utilize criticism I once thought offensive.
St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office – Intern May 2010 - January 2011
· Reconciled witness disputes by using my high self-monitoring abilities and calm demeanor in order to maintain a safe environment for any witnesses, police officers, attorneys, and/or civilians present.
· Improved the current filing system by organizing, scanning, and eventually destroying old files freeing up much needed storage space and effectively saving the city money.
· Assigned, notarized, and eventually distributed all new cases accepted by the attorneys in the warrant office.
Kids Under Twenty One (KUTO) - Crisis Hotline Volunteer January 2008 – August 2010
· Established excellent report in order to make the callers feel comfortable discussing very serious personal issues such as molestation, rape, suicide, abuse, depression, and homelessness.
· Approached every situation from as many perspectives as possible so that I would be able to advise my caller in the best possible way
· Generated as many solutions to a problem as possible in order to make the callers feel less trapped and more hopeful in their desolate states.
